You’ve done the work. Read the books. Tried the therapy. And you’re still stuck.

There’s a reason — and it’s not that you haven’t tried hard enough.

If you’re ready to stop trying harder and finally get unstuck — this book was written for you.

How I Work

After guiding more than 1,200 ketamine-assisted therapy sessions, one pattern has become undeniable: understanding your patterns is not the same as being able to change them. This is the client I often work with — intelligent, motivated, deeply committed to their healing. They’ve tried everything the field recommends. And something essential remains out of reach.

Not because they haven’t tried hard enough — but because the thinking mind has limits that thinking alone cannot overcome. My practice centers on ketamine-assisted therapy integrated with Internal Family Systems. Together, they create conditions for the kind of healing that insight alone often cannot reach.

Ketamine quiets the cognitive control that keeps protective patterns in place. IFS ensures that what emerges is met with skill, safety, and respect for every part of the system. What I’ve witnessed is consistent: when the body finally feels safe enough to soften, transformation becomes possible.

Not more insight — a different pathway. My work is grounded in Polyvagal Theory, Internal Family Systems, and somatic approaches — and informed by my own experience with ketamine as a medicine. This isn’t about bypassing the mind. It’s about creating conditions where other forms of intelligence can finally be heard alongside it. And from that place, change is no longer something you have to force.

The Embodied Rebel

What if the thing you are using to heal is the same thing keeping you stuck?

After guiding more than 1,200 ketamine-assisted therapy sessions — and experiencing the medicine’s transformative power herself — Terri Dewar has witnessed something clear and consistent:

Healing doesn’t happen when we try harder. It happens when the thinking mind can finally quiet — and the body feels safe enough to soften.

The Embodied Rebel explores what becomes possible when we stop asking the thinking mind to solve problems it cannot solve.

For therapists ready to move beyond insight — and for clients exhausted by the effort of healing — this book offers something different:

Not more understanding. But real change.
